GPS-Mate supports calibrated maps in the GMM format. These digital maps contain the map itself and all georeference information within one file.
Copy the map file into a directory of your device and use it with GPS-Mate.
bsmap
The digital maps of the world-mapping-project of the publisher Reise-Know-How are available as GMM maps from http://www.bsmap.de.
To use these maps GPS-Mate version 1.51 or higher is required.
nv.digital
The digital sea charts of the Nautische Veröffentlichung Verlagsgesellschaft mbHnv.digital are supported with all variants of GPS-Mate (in particular PC and Android).
To use them a valid installation of the sea charts and 'GPS-Mate for Windows' is required. Do you wish to use the sea charts offline on your mobile device such as a Android Smartphones or tablet, Windows CE or Windows Mobile, you require 'GPS-Mate for Windows' and the
corresponding mobile variant of GPS-Mate.
To use these sea charts GPS-Mate version 3.0.0 or higher is required.
GPS-Mate integrates many free maps. OpenStreetMap ist a project to produce a worldwide ans free maps. The display of OpenStreetMap in GPS-Mate is done online from the internet as well as offline (locally on your device). To use map regions or map tiles
use GPS-Mate for Windows. You can store maps on your mobile device with GPS-Mate.
No calibration is required. Using maps offline has the advantage that you don't need a mobile internet connection (e.g. PNA's). Also there no data transfer costs.

The OpenSeaMap project produces a free sea map. The sea marks are displayed on top of another map. The complete set of sea marks as tiles can be downloaded and used offline in GPS-Mate.
GPS-Mate integrates several online maps from GoogleMaps (road map, satelliten photos, marking overlay) and VirtualEarth (road map, aerial photos).
Kompass, MagicMaps, Top50 and Web-Map-Service maps
These maps can be automatically calibrated with the PC tool Glopus MapManager by using screenshots and a calibration file.
Copy both files to your mobile devices. For performance reasons use a bitmap (4 or 8bpp). In GPS-Mate klick Tools-->map calibration-->Find map. File type must be Glopus (.KAL).
To use these maps ‘GPS-Mate for Android’ version 1.0.0 or higher is required. For all other operating systems version 1.70 or higher is required.
